Sherry Kennedy started the online Vacation Shoppe in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1995 because of her love of cruises and travel.  From a small basement office with snow piled up against the window, The Vacation Shoppe, Inc. was launched and instantly was nominated Yahoo's Site of the Week.  Today, the Vacation Shoppe, Inc. attracts clients from all over the world because of the internet.  Repeat and referral business is an extremely important element in sustaining an upward growth momentum into the second decade of operation. 

Sherry is one of 25 travel agents nationwide voted onto the Travel Agent Advisory Board of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) now merged with the International Council of Cruise Lines.  She is also a Certified Sandals Specialist, a ScotsAgent, an Ireland Specialist through Tourism Ireland, an Aruba and Bahamas Certified Expert, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess Certified Specialist and has completed the  requirements to achieve the Accredited Cruise Counselor level offered by CLIA.

Sherry writes for several travel industry publications, is a published travel photojournalist and has been a contributor to the Frommers.com cruise newsletter for nearly 10 years.  In the planning and soon to launch are two exciting new new websites, www.CruiseComment.com and www.PortComment.com which are designed to be truly informational in content to provide up-to-date and unbiased cruise and port reviews.  In the works is European-River-Cruising.com. Sherry feels that this will be a very popular form of cruising for the more experienced cruiser and is a Grand European River certified specialist with Uniworld River Cruises.
